NFL Preview 2009 - Week 7

Atlanta @ Dallas
Matt Ryan and the Falcons are proving that their trip to the Play Offs last year was no fluke, sitting on a 4-1 record their only loss was to elite side the New England Patriots. Atlanta are strong everywhere, their offensive line pass protects well giving Matt Ryan time to find his big play makers Roddy White and new weapon Tony Gonzalez and the line creates plenty of holes for their no.1 running back Michael Turner. The 'D' too get after the opposing QB well with likes of John Abraham and stop the run well as well.
Dallas on the other hand seem to have stumbled their way to a 3-2 record being very unimpressive in two of those wins against Carolina and Kansas City. Dallas are talented side but don't seem to have sorted out the problems of last year when now departed WR Terrell Owens shouldered all the blame. The Cowboys are one defeat away from another meltdown and this young Falcon side look just the outfit to provide them with it.

Pick 1: Atlanta 9/5 (William Hill & Boylesports)

San Francisco @ Houston
Houston has had it's customary slow start to the season and is already in a hole 2.5 games behind an impressive looking Indianapolis side in it's division, so every game for the Texans at the moment is vital.. Sitting at 3-3 the Texans can consider themselves quite unfortunate as they have been left on the one yard line in two of those games as time has expired when they were just about to tie the games up. Houston's offense will always score points and the 'D' is now beginning to show some potential and stop some teams.
The 49ers best chance of hurting the Texans is with their running game, but with RB's Frank Gore (expected back this week), and Glen Coffee both carrying injuries this is a good time to be facing the Niners'... San Francico's normally reliable 'D' looked very sloppy against Atlanta a week before their bye and I would expect Houston to put up enough points even if San Fran does get it's running game going.

Pick 2: Houston -3 20/23 (Paddy Power)

Green Bay @ Cleveland
Cleveland have been suffering with an outbreak of flu this week and might have a few first teamers missing or playing under the weather. The Browns are a poor side when the have everybody healthy so just imagine what they could be like without thier so called stars. Green Bay are plenty good enough to take advantage, their protection of QB Aaron Rodgers this year has been nothing short of awful.. But he is that good he has still been posting big numbers each week. While Green Bay will struggle against the better sides until they sort out these offensive line problems, the Pack should easily dispose the Browns especially if they do come out under prepared.

Pick 3: Green Bay -7 10/11 (Generally Available)
