NFL Preview 2009 - Week 10
Another weekend of American Football to look forward to that includes big match ups such as New England's visit to Indianapolis and Cincinnati's trip into Pittsburgh. But unfortunately it's not a week to be getting involved in for betting purposes.. Not much value around! So the best advice is to keep most of last weeks winnings in our pocket and wait for a better opportunity.. So just a small play this week to keep us interested in the anticipation of greater pricing errors in week 11.
Denver @ Washington
his game features two sides that have good defenses that are going to go against some what weaker offenses that just do not match up. The Redskins are an absoute mess at the moment and have had three different people calling their plays for the offense in their latest outings. Jim Zorn appears to be a 'lame duck' head coach at the moment as owner Daniel Snyder appears ready to drop the axe on his coach at any time. It doesn't seem to matter who is calling the plays though as nobody seems to trust QB Jason Campbell enough to let him throw the ball deep down the field. After watching Denver in defeat to Pittsburgh on Monday night, they appear to suffer the phobia.
The Bronco's who have had a very decent start to the season possess two highly accomplished WR's in Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal, but Denver would much prefer to 'dink and dunk' their way up the field chewing up clock as they go. Both offenses lack of ambition, allied to the fact that they are going up against two superior units in the opposing defenses suggest that this will be a low scoring game.
Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh
Cincy don't appear to be getting the credit they deserve, the one time Bungles have done nothing but impress all season and have already accounted for both of their supposedly superior divisional rivals, Baltimore (twice), and this weekends opponent the 'World' champion Pittsburgh Steelers. Cincinnati's defense has improved dramatically this year, probably helped by the fact that Cincy has a very real running game now, that, along with what was an already productive passing game allows the 'D' to rest for a while on the sidelines while the offense are doing their thing!
Pittsburgh are a very good team themselves, so going into Heinz Field and coming away with a win might just be asking too much of the Bengals.. But the 7 points they receive on the handicap looks a little too high.
Recommendation: Double - Under 37.5pts in Washington game 10/11 and Cincinnati +7 10/11 (Stan James)
