NFL preview - week 14
Week 14
Just like any poker player eliminated from the World Series Of Poker, any punter who bets regularly on the NFL will have plenty of bad beat stories. Houston provided yet another for myself last week when QB Matt Schaub was knocked out of the game early against divisional rivals Jacksonville. Houston came back well when Schaub returned mid way through the 2nd quarter but the Texans were already 17 points adrift. But for a very dubious play call late in the game, allowing RB Chris Brown throw an interception with the Texans on the verge of scoring again, Houston would have won..
Thankfully last weeks other two selections both won to get us back to winning ways!
This is week is tough to find any value whatsoever. So I'm gonna advise to keep stakes small and we'll try and take advantage of the favourable odds and terms that William Hill offer on their double result betting. Hills generally offer the best price about a favourite to win HT/FT, and as little extra incentive to bet with them, they also don't penalise us if the match goes into overtime, as overtime counts for their double result market.
Denver @ Indianapolis
Indy will better bitter rival New England's record of 21 straight regular season victories if they defeat Denver in Indianapolis this week. Of greater importance though, a win will also lock up the no.1 seed for the Colts throughout the playoffs.
Denver, desperate for a win themselves will no doubt be up for the game, but they are side that has had difficulty stopping Peyton Manning and his men in recent history with Indianapolis usually out of sight by half time.
Seattle @ Houston
After doing us a couple of early season favours the Texans have let us down twice recently.. I'm not ready to give up on this young Houston side yet though, there is just too much talent here for this Texan side to carry on losing close games.
Seattle head into Texas this week and I expect Houston to win in style.
Advised bet: Double - Indianapolis HT/FT 13/20 & Houston HT/FT 8/11 (William Hill)
