Bigtips.co.uk weekend sports round up – 2010 - week 17
The weekend’s horse racing action featured the Bet365 Gold Cup Chase – with £160K going to the winner and it was won by 20/1 shot Church Island and ridden by AP Heskin. BigTips had their followers celebrating by tipping the winner of the Bet365 Mile at Sandown – Paco Boy storming home, with a hefty 4pts backing from ourselves. The big money didn’t stop there with a Sunday winner to help the big spenders among you! In the 3:15 at Bath yesterday, Fault did the business for us at an advised price of 11/2 with William Hill – capping a great weekend for us!
Saturday’s football brought the usual mixture of elation and despair that generally occurs this time of the season – the black county went into party mode as Wolves confirmed another season in the top flight by drawing with Blackburn 1-1. There was misery at Hull though as they lost 1-0 to Sunderland and all but confirmed their relegation. At the top of the league, Man Utd turned the heat up on Chelsea by beating Spurs 3-1, best bet of the day was the draw at Bolton v Portsmouth – 3.85 with Betfair pre-match.
Onto super Sunday – and there were goals galore as Chelsea smashed Stoke 7-0 and Liverpool beat Burnley 4-0. The title race is still very much alive then with next Sunday’s clash between Liverpool and Chelsea looking crucial – the London blues are still the firm favourites at 4/7 on with Bet365 – however never rule out Man Utd they are hoping Liverpool will do them a grudged favour and at 13/8 with Boylesports, you never know! The race for fourth is still very much up for grabs – Spurs the clear favourites at 10/11 – but with some big clashes coming up anything can happen.
Finally onto the cricket review and Indian Premier League came to a close yesterday, my pick the Mumbai Indians made it to the final but sadly couldn’t get past the Chennai Super Kings, who picked up the win to become the third different team to win the IPL. The world’s cricket focus moves onto the Twenty20 world cup which begins on April 30 in the West Indies, England do not have much pedigree in the Twenty20 game and the are rated as outsiders – 12/1 with Boylesports to win it – the favourites are the Aussies at 7/2 with Bet365.
