Masked Marvel headlines a great month for BigTips.co.uk
The importance of a long term strategy in the life of a tipster (and bettor) could not be more starkly exposed than in August and September. Nothing went right for BigTips racing in August, despite following the right information, at the right prices, it was just one of those months..
But as we always stress, Bigtips is about long term betting profits, and September brought the profits in - and then some.
After a number of near misses from placed horses early in the month, it was Qhilimar firing home at Newton Aboot at 6/1 which sparked a memorable few weeks.
Then, having previously tipped up both Pour Moi and Long Run in the major races earlier in the year, we again hit the Jackpot in one of the UK's most famous contests. Masked Marvel (advised several weeks before the race at 16/1) got up in the St Leger to return 31.5 points for subscribers.
A great day at HQ followed - 2 bets, 2 winners! Mohedian Lady at 9/2, followed up by Crius at 10/1, and the BigTips EW Double bettors were in clover.
Up north over the jumps at Sedgefield, and Dusky Bob landed a monster punt for the shrew Brian Ellison yard. Advised by BigTips at 12/1 early morning, Dusky Bob eased at home 9/2. And still over the jumps, High Carol EW backers were rewarded with a place at 25/1, and with a more forceful ride this one could have easily got up.
Back down south, Rulesn'regulations flew home at Kempton at 8/1. In fact Kempton, and all weather tracks in general, continue to be a great source of winners from our tipsters, reinforcing the point that an 8/1 winner is an 8/1 winner, no matter what the grade of race.
Fountains Flypast ended the month with a bang - 2pts advised at 3/1, came home as the short priced 13/8 favourite.
And so we move in to October, hoping to replicate the huge profit of 62.50 points we made in the same month last year...
